Moebius Strips
May. 4th, 2005 01:12 pmWhen I was a kid, one of the most fascenating things to me was a moebius strip. You know, that thing where the bottom of the paper becomes the top and everything leads back to itself?
They were like magic to me. And I tested it rigerously, always trying to trick it somehow into not coming out the same.
Moebius strips say to me that everything's connected, and even if you don't understand it, it does work. It's still a kind of very cool magic.
And every now and then, I take a strip of paper, give it a half twist and tape the ends together. Then I carefully draw a line along the top, which becomes the bottom, but never stops being the top.
And guess what? The magic still works.
